Pres­i­dent and Founder: Mike Freedman

Mike founded East­wiseRx based on the belief that good nutri­tion and an active lifestyle can help pre­vent and man­age dia­betes and other chronic dis­eases. As pres­i­dent and founder, Mike leads the Eat­wiseRx team effort to bring the best ser­vices and nutri­tion guid­ance to their clients. Mike has 20 years of expe­ri­ence lead­ing client-focused health­care com­pa­nies. His phi­los­o­phy of always putting the needs of the client first and mak­ing high-quality health­care acces­si­ble is what dri­ves Mike and every­one at EatwiseRx.

Prior to start­ing Eat­wiseRx, Mike was a prin­ci­pal at Assis­tive Tech­nol­ogy Group, Inc. for nearly 12 years, where he focused on invest­ing in and grow­ing health­care com­pa­nies. He has a proven track record of suc­cess devel­op­ing strong lead­er­ship teams and build­ing the resources nec­es­sary to take com­pa­nies to new heights.

Mike holds a Mas­ters of Busi­ness Admin­is­tra­tion (M.B.A.) from the NYU Stern School of Busi­ness and a Bach­e­lors of Arts (B.A.) from Dart­mouth College.

As a for­mer col­lege ath­lete and avid run­ner, Mike has always been inter­ested in health and nutri­tion. In addi­tion to build­ing East­wise Rx, Mike is strong sup­porter of youth sports. He is actively involved in youth sports with his five chil­dren, serv­ing as pres­i­dent of a local youth hockey program.

Direc­tor of Clin­i­cal Ser­vices: Jeff Ens­minger, Dietit­ian, C.D.E

Jeff Ens­minger is the Direc­tor of Clin­i­cal Ser­vices for Eat­wiseRx. Jeff is a reg­is­tered dietit­ian who brings more than 20 years of expe­ri­ence in nutri­tion coun­sel­ing to the table. He is pas­sion­ate about teach­ing patients that a diag­no­sis of dia­betes does not have to mean the end of life as they know it, and that life with dia­betes can be delicious.

Jeff over­sees EatwiseRx’s clin­i­cal prac­tice and the staff of Dia­betes Diet Experts. He is also respon­si­ble for cur­ricu­lum devel­op­ment and bring­ing the lat­est edu­ca­tional tools and tech­nol­ogy to the company.

Prior to join­ing Eat­wiseRx, Jeff helped thou­sands of patients learn to man­age their health as Founder and Owner of Pro­pel Health, LLC, a Nutri­tion and Dia­betes Edu­ca­tion Pri­vate Prac­tice. He also served as Dia­betes Edu­ca­tor and Dietit­ian for Buf­falo Med­ical Group, PC, and Chief Clin­i­cal Dietit­ian for Cuba Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal and for Cat­ta­rau­gus and Allegheny County focus­ing on home care patients.

Jeff holds a Master’s degree (M.S.) in Dietet­ics from D’Youville Col­lege and a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Busi­ness Admin­is­tra­tion from Rochester Insti­tute of Technology

He is an active mem­ber of the both the National and Local chap­ters of the Amer­i­can Dietetic Asso­ci­a­tion, Amer­i­can Dia­betes Asso­ci­a­tion, Amer­i­can Asso­ci­a­tion of Dia­betes Edu­ca­tors.
As an avid marathoner and over­all health enthu­si­ast, Jeff and his fam­ily prac­tice what he preaches. When he is not busy coach­ing patients on diet and nutri­tion, he is coach­ing his sons’ hockey, soc­cer, base­ball and ten­nis teams.

Direc­tor of Busi­ness Devel­op­ment: Helen Resor

Helen Resor is the Direc­tor of Busi­ness Devel­op­ment for Eat­wiseRx. Helen works to forge strong rela­tion­ships with physi­cians, health agen­cies, and com­mu­nity cen­ters to build aware­ness of and increase acces­si­bil­ity to the Eat­wiseRx pro­gram for patients with dia­betes. In addi­tion, Helen helps grow one of EatwiseRx’s patient engage­ment tools, Sav­ings for Health, a web­site which edu­cates patients about how they can eat healthy and save money.

Helen holds a Bach­e­lor of Arts (B.A.) in His­tory and Polit­i­cal Sci­ence from Yale Uni­ver­sity where she was heav­ily involved in Com­mu­nity Health Edu­ca­tors, a pro­gram that part­nered with local schools to edu­cate stu­dents on all aspects of health.

Out­side of work, Helen is pas­sion­ate about the out­doors and has been active in con­ser­va­tion and envi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion efforts. Helen won a bronze medal at the 2006 Torino Olympics as a mem­ber of the United States Olympic Women’s Hockey Team. She con­tin­ues to be active in hockey and has been shar­ing her love of the game coach­ing girls of all ages.
